No Glitz and Glamour from us!

Saturday was the big day Rush of Fools in the Valley! We (broken no more) had been planning for this concert since about late December. In October we received a call from The Access’s manager inviting us to check out The Access with Rush of Fools in concert in Del Rio. So I drove up there only to be amazed and impressed by the Access and Rush of Fools.  A few weeks past and I was offered the opportunity to host these 2 amazing bands in the Valley. So the planning process began, the promoting began, and production started to get on its way.  BNM promoted this concert HARD, flyers, posters, mail outs, email blasts, you name it we did it.  We wanted people to take something away from this concert and we wanted to be different, stand out, and show people that we are more than just a regular concert you were going to leave with something much more than just buzzing ears!

Saturday came around and it was 8am we got on the road, packed up the cars and headed out to the venue for the concert. We started setting up, picked up lunch for the bands and sound was being worked on. A little after lunch we were all just hanging around when suddenly you see smoke coming out of the amps!  The first amp blew up!  About 3 seconds later, the 2nd amp blew out!  The church was filled with smoke. So now what?  It was 3:30 doors were going to open at 5 and we had no sound no lights.  Everyone who knows me knows that I walk around with a note pad of lists, and things to do and stuff I plan for, this was not one of those things on the list! Lol

We managed to plug in to the churches sound system and used theirs as a back up and the bands decided to go acoustic.  The bands quickly plugged in did a 10 minute sound check and we went on.

This NEEDED to happen not only to show me but to show others that it’s not about how many lights you can get, not about how many speakers you can rent, or about how much your ears are ringing after a concert, but when you attend a Christian concert motivated by a team that is God fearing, faith filled and with no hidden agendas you leave with something so much more. Yes the lights are great, yes the loud speakers are great, and yes the glitz and glamour is fun.  But God doesn’t need a microphone to say what He needs to say, He doesn’t need a light show to get your attention He needs your heart, and your  willingness  to be sensitive to His spirit.  And I honestly truly believe that His spirit was there on Saturday night. If you were expecting a rock show you didn’t get it but instead you left with a message.

This proves beyond any doubt that Broken No More is different.  No matter how hard we planned, and prepared for that night, God had Hand in control and really let us see that, that night.  One of our slogans is “ This is not just another concert” and honestly it really wasn’t.  Thank you for everyone who made it out and supported this event, we would love to hear you comments, questions and concerns.  Feel free to email me at denise@brokennomore.net or give me a call 956-212-5330 we are here and ready to hear from you. Thank you and God bless!

Denise, it was an amazing time with the Lord. The Lord does not make mistakes and he did his will. Everyone was praying for a huge blessing and for the power of the Lord to move … haha but we were not praying how he was going to do it. Maybe it was not what was originally planned wooohooo but God did it better! Keep doing what you do my friend …. God is worth it! :)

  2. I love the new blog! I will continue to read up and hear how things are going at BNM!

  3. The concert was amazing..the best one I’ve been to yet in the valley. I loved the fact that it was so intimate rather than loud and just a concert. I truly felt the spirit of the Lord that night. The bands did awesome and I loved how not only did they play their music but they talked to us and showed us how much faith they have for our Lord. Thanks so much for bringing them down!

    • Awesome! I am so glad that you enjoyed yourself at the Rush of Fools concert. It’s our mission to not just host a concert, but to create an atmosphere where God can minister to us through His word, and spirit. So know you know when you go to a Broken No More concert it will be so much more! This summer we are planning our Christian Music festival, be sure to be on the look out for that :)

  4. I loved it! It was just what I needed!
Along week at work, nothing to do, had not spent alot of alone time with the lord.
And Bam! while one of the Access Band Members was praying over us,For by Grace you have been saved through Faith;and that not of yourselves,
It is the gift of GOD. Ephesians 2:8.
I kidd you not I just printed that on my new business cards 2 weeks ago! I once again was reminded by the Lord he is always listening,
watching, and waiting to reviel the many gifts he has waiting for us in life. We need to be humbled and broken many times before we can heal stronger then ever back in his image.
Thanks Again to Denise and Brokennomore Crew!
